Stress buster tips

Tips to cope-up with exam stress :)

Exam time is not easy , so you won't be alone in feeling a bit overwhelmed by revision from time to time . Here are some tips that can hugely help you manage this anxiety .

A little stress is always good . It can be a motivational pull for one to get things done . But sometimes it becomes difficult to tackle this anxiety (especially during the exams ) . Here I will share 5 tips that helped me and I hope they will help you too.
1 - Find a quite place where you can study without being distracted . It's very important to find a suitable environment for studying . Always try to study on a chair and a table and make sure that your table isn't much cluttered .

2 - Eat leafy green vegetables because they are an important part of healthy diet . They are packed with vitamins , minerals and fiber . Eating a diet rich in green vegetables can be beneficial in numerous ways .
A study shows that one who eats leafy green vegetables on a daily basis are more likely to hold onto their memory than people who do not .
Avoid junk food as much as possible especially during exam time .

3 - Avoid caffeine and other energy drinks . Avoiding coffee during exams seem an impossible task , but caffeine is an stimulant and will increase your stress level rather than reducing it . So try to cut coffee completely and instead drink a lot of water .

4 - Step away from SOCIAL MEDIA . Stepping away from social media during exam period , is hard as it might be , but trust me it will do wonders to your stress levels .
Checking updates on Facebook .. Instagram .. is the worst type of procrastination possible . As we know how time disappears when you are swiping through your social feeds.

5 - Do deep breathing exercises . It is scientifically proven that deep breathing reduces cortisol levels. There are many breathing exercises but I'm sharing one to get you started -

Morning Breathing : When you get out of your bed stand-up straight , slightly bend your knees and then bend forward from your waist. Let your arms rest limply towards the floor . Breath in slowly returning to your original standing position as you do. Your head should be the last part to straighten up . Now exhale slowly , returning to the bent position  by the end of your breath. Repeat 4 - 5 times :)

If stress gets to a point where it is overwhelming and affecting your day-to-day life I would highly recommend you to speak to someone and share everything you have in your heart .
